So Much to be Thankful For

DF2 About Us, Routine Dentistry

As the weather cools and the final months of 2021 are upon us, we reflect back on the year coming to a close. It’s been an eventful one for us, and we have much to be thankful for.

1. Recognition from our community

Best of The Readings: The Readings magazine is a quarterly magazine that features the people, places, happenings, and history of Reading and North Reading. Their annual Best of The Readings issue awards businesses, practices, and organizations based on reader polls. We are proud to have been voted a best dental practice in 2021. We sincerely appreciate your votes and pledge to continue to do our best to serve you.

Boston Magazine Top Dentists: Each year, Boston Magazine publishes the definitive list of the best dentists in the Boston area (and suburbs) for general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and a variety of dental specialties. Once again in 2021, our dentists received top dentist awards from Boston Magazine in general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. We are proud of our awards and grateful for your loyalty and support.

2. The completion of our office expansion

It was nearly three years ago when we first envisioned our expanded office. Even before the challenges presented by the pandemic, we overcame our share of obstacles. Permitting complexities, delays in construction materials and weather woes presented unforeseeable and unwelcome hiccups. We worried that the construction-related impacts caused stress to our patients and staff.

The completed addition provides us with five new (sun-lit!) treatment rooms to help us serve our patients more efficiently for both preventative care and more extensive treatment. The serene, airy rooms offer restful spaces and are equipped with state-of-the-art technology for our patients.

Our renovation also provides private offices for consultation discussions, an expanded reception area, and waiting room, brand-new cutting-edge equipment, additional parking, and space for continuing education programs for our staff (see photos below).

Lastly, new exterior signage has been designed and ordered. We anticipate it will be installed on the tower before the year ends.

3. Our dedicated team of dental professionals

Nationwide, the additional stresses of 2020 required families to reassess their work and family situations. We were not immune to these impacts. Some team members accelerated retirements; others opted to make changes to accommodate new circumstances. We said emotional goodbyes to a number of longtime employees as they embraced new chapters in their personal and work lives.

Our diligent and determined search for new employees was neither easy nor swift. However, we were extremely fortunate to secure strong new team members who exemplify our values and vision.

We are also delighted to welcome endodontist Dr. James Pastore, who will be at our office on Fridays. Having Dr. Pastore on site dramatically improves the efficiency and mitigates the coordination needed for patients undergoing certain procedures, including root canals and implants. While Dr. Pastore is new to the office, our dentists have known, trusted and have been referring patients to him for years.

As our new teammates acclimated to our office protocols, our entire practice team recently participated in a three-day, on-site workshop led by consulting firm Total Patient Service Institute. Consistent with our mission statement, and with understanding our patient’s perspective as the overarching goal, we focused on these key areas:

  • Help our practice leadership team identify and meet the needs of the changing dental market
  • Deliver on our practice’s philosophy of complete and extraordinary dental patient care
  • Continue to embrace state-of-the-art ideas, techniques, and systems
  • Help our patients accept more of the care that they really need and want
  • Achieve personal and professional balance in our “at work” and “out of work” lives
  • Value and increase our overall dental team harmony
  • And, accomplish all of these items while having fun!

As always, we are thankful for you, our patients. Please contact us with any concerns relating to your dental health.
